Class Powers & Talents
Rogue’s Armour: You are at home in leather armor. You can ignore the Armor Penalty of leather armor altogether. It affects neither your Speed nor your Dexterity.
Backstab: You can inflict extra damage with a melee attack if you can strike an opponent from an unexpected direction. You must approach your opponent with a move action and win an opposed test of your Dexterity (Stealth) vs. your target’s Perception (Seeing). If you win the test, you can use your major action this round to backstab
him. This is a melee attack with a +2 bonus to the attack roll that inflicts +1d6 extra damagage. You cannot backstab an enemy that you begin your turn adjacent to (but see the Bluff power at level 4).
Thievery (Novice): You don’t let locks stand in your way. If you fail a Dexterity (Lock Picking) test, you can re-roll it, but you must keep the results of the second roll.
Pierce Armour: Your skill with a blade allows you to identify weakpoints in your enemies armour enabling you to use the Pierce Armour skill for 1 Stunt Point.

Izzar de Tela.

Izzar was born in Antiva City, the son of Aivarz de Tela, a wealthy and influential cloth merchant. Izzar grew up with his brother Bassan learning the ins ‘n outs of their father’s business.

As a boy Izzar would often sneak into the markets and bazaars looking for interesting people. These would usually be wayfairers or treasure hunters whom he would follow to taverns and listen to their stories of daring do. These scoundrels welcomed the precocious youngster into their midst and he gleaned much of his knowledge of treasures and treasure hunting by listening to their tales.

Izzar began pick-pocketing at the age of 10, just to see if he could. It’s a hobby he would keep for the rest of his life.
Izzar developed a sort of apprentice/mentor relationship with a treasure hunter named Oranus The Scarlett who taught Izzar the finer points of thieving and general misbehaving.

Izzar was forced to flee Antiva after his brother Bassan took over their father’s business and attempted to kill Izzar. It was Oranus’ daughter Shay who secreted Izzar to safety by sailing from Rialto to Ferelden.

Izzar now wanders Ferelden and beyond searching for lost treasures and performing the odd quest to raise money to eventually return to Antiva.

I’d like Izzar to eventually return Antiva City to confront his brother.
I’d also like to see Izzar repay his life debt to Oranus and Shay in some way. Or be reunited with them in some way.

On the night of his flight from Antiva, Izzar discovered that his father’s death was caused by Bassan. Fearing Izzar would expose him Bassan ordered his brother killed.

Oranus The Scarlett was Aivarz de Tela’s secret business partner working as a smuggler getting de Tela cloth to the furthest reaches of Thedas in spite of tariffs or regional political upheaval. This is the reason for Oranus’ interest in the young Izzar and it is he who aids Izzar now as a secret benefactor.

Oranus The Scarlett: Smuggler/treasure hunter from the Free Marches, a friend of Izzar’s father and Izzar’s mysterious benefactor.

Shay Of The Emerald Hood: Swashbuckling lady of fortune and daughter of Oranus The Scarlett. Shay and Izzar developed a close friendship while on the run from Bassan and eventually she fell in love with him.

Bassan de Tela: Izzar’s older brother who murdered their father and now assumes Izzar is dead too.

Izzar has fond memories of the markets of Antiva City. The bright stalls and bright characters. The smell of leather, spices and incense generally accompany or trigger these memories.

The night Izzar and Shay were forced to dock in Kirkwall by Bassan’s men. Shey scuttled her own ship so Bassan’s assassins would believe Izzar was dead. The feeling of terror mixed with exhilaration. Noticing, and not for the first time, just how beautiful Shay looked when she was saving his life.

Arriving in Ferelden at the port in West Hill. Immediately noticing the smell of wet dog and overall feeling of oppressive dampness. Saying goodbye to Shay and wishing she wasn’t sailing away from him.
